Wow! It’s been a whirlwind of toddler giggles, entrepreneurial quests, and a heap of thrift-flipping adventures since we last connected. Life, as we know it, is a beautiful chaos of bedtime stories and business strategies, but I’m beyond excited to dive back into this journey with all of you! Managing the chaos of motherhood with three tiny tornadoes under five while diving into different entrepreneurial escapades—my life has been nothing short of a circus! Well, I’ve embraced it all with open arms and a vintage cart. Get comfy—I’m about to share how this mom’s life has gone from ordinary to a little less ordinary, one thrift-flip at a time!
Finding My Path
During my time away, I’ve been experimenting with a variety of roles. Building multiple side gigs for income, you could say. From handling social media, pretending to be a champ, to driving around as an Amazon Flex driver, all with my three kids in tow! Not to forget my little retail entrepreneurial stint—because who doesn’t love a fun side hustle?
The Social Media Sorcery
Social media management became my jam! I’ve dabbled in it here and there, from taking on some posting for my uncle a few years back, when he didn’t want to mess with it for his business, to actually working as a Virtual Assistant for a client I found on Hire My Mom, I think it’s safe to say I’ve “self-taught” my way to being decently good at it!
When asked to take over posting on social media for a wonderful new business venture some ladies I know are launching, I found myself deeply immersed in crafting posts that were as real as the soggy Cheerios on my kitchen floor. Using Canva was like childhood crafting times—minus the glitter glue disasters.
Maybe one of these days soon, I’ll create an Instagram highlight here or a cute Facebook post there, sharing my own families chaos -spontaneous kitchen dance parties, or meltdown moments, all! -and get some virtual high-fives for it!
In the journey of creating engaging posts for businesses online, I discovered that authenticity is the secret sauce. Nobody wants perfection—they want to see, without being told, what someone is all about! At least this is what i’m learning.
Flexing with Amazon Flex
In my quest for a flexible paycheck that wouldn’t turn my crazy schedule even crazier (HA HA HA) I signed up for Amazon Flex. It was like doing a complex puzzle—but with packages. On the upside, I became an expert in Tetris and got to explore my town in ways Google Maps couldn’t teach me, because let’s face it, in my small town, Google Maps knows shit. Maybe we ought to go back to paper maps…
Plus, it gave me a new appreciation for logistics and a lot of entertaining mishaps involving GPS directions gone rogue. You know… Since *google* doesn’t know where: that county Rd, 44-#1 69, over the speedbump and around the rock, address is. 😉

The Thrill of Thrift-Flipping on eBay and Poshmark
And now for the pièce de résistance—my online shops with eBay and Poshmark. It wasn’t just about decluttering my closet, but more about curating fashion stories—kind of like saying goodbye to my former self one chic-ish item at a time. Let me tell you, each sale felt like a mini award ceremony with imaginary confetti (and sometimes real confetti courtesy of my kids). Then I discovered how to comp, a fancy thrift flipping, or reseller, term for knowing how to search what items are worth buying in order to flip for a profit! So I started finding items at a garage sale or thrift store, then turning around and selling it online which really made the income bump happen!
Running an online store was an adventure all on its own, involving almost daily pilgrimages to Goodwill and thrift stores. Picture this: me herding three enthusiastic little ones like sheep in a cart, each armed with their curious observations. Navigating thrift store aisles became our family’s thrilling treasure hunt. I’d be rummaging for hidden gems in the clothing racks, while keeping my little explorers close, making sure they didn’t stage their own escape attempt down the toy aisle or you know, lick the floor, or suck on that used…Something.
These platforms were more than just moneymakers; they were my fashionista playground, teaching me marketing and the art of sweet, sweet negotiation. Who knew offering free shipping could feel like an act of extreme kindness?
Lessons from the Journey
Throughout these experiences, I learned a ton (sometimes more than from parenting itself!). Here are the golden nuggets:

Embrace Uncertainty
With every new step, I had to stay light on my feet—metaphorically, not literally (though chasing toddlers sure helps). Embracing the unknown kept me on my toes and ready for anything—like surprise tantrums.
Perfection is Simply Fiction
I used to aim for perfection, but hilariously, my kids have taught me otherwise. They remind me daily that life is too messy for perfect. Who could have guessed a spilled drink or a missing shoe was actually educational?

From strapping packages at the back of my car to negotiating prices with gentle firmness—each venture was a tad different yet fitting together seamlessly like Lego blocks in my kid’s masterpiece.

With all this experience under my belt (and possibly some leftover spaghetti sauce from dinner), I’m all raring to pump new life into Intricate Grace. Expect more authentic stories, zero sugar-coating, and lots of giggles.
